A Broader Role in Waste Management
While our roots are firmly planted in highways and infrastructure, Greener Asphalt Solutions has evolved into a key player across the wider waste management sector. Our technologies and services are designed not only for road maintenance teams but also for waste contractors, local authorities, and environmental service providers seeking smarter, more sustainable ways to handle complex waste streams.
Working directly with waste management organisations who are handling waste for utilities, rail, construction, and municipal operations to process and repurpose a diverse range of materials. From gully waste and utility spoil to rail ballast, glass, and organic debris, our systems are engineered to extract value from materials that would traditionally be just sent to landfill. As a result, these waste materials are transformed into valuable, reusable resources.
Our mobile drying plant, for example, is not limited to highway applications. It’s a versatile, on-site solution that enables waste operators to recover and reuse materials at source, eliminating the need for long-haul transport and external processing. This flexibility makes it ideal for remote sites, urban projects, and seasonal operations where conventional waste handling is inefficient or costly.
We are bridging the gap between waste management and infrastructure, reshaping how industries think about waste, not as a burden, but as an opportunity for innovation, savings, and sustainability.
New Era in Waste Recover: Mobile Drying in Motion
Our mobile drying plant is a game-changer for waste processing. Originally designed to handle gully waste, the plant removes moisture, screens contaminants, and transforms the material into BS3882-certified topsoil. This topsoil is then reused for landscaping, verge dressing, and other green infrastructure projects.
Recognised and Proven:
We are leading the way in sustainable waste recovery, and the results speak for themselves. Our Combined Drying Technology (CDT) Study showcases how mobile drying units can transform gully waste, once considered a costly, non-recyclable material, into valuable, BS3882-compliant topsoil. By removing moisture and contaminants, the drying process enables the reuse of materials for landscaping and verge reinstatement, dramatically reducing landfill dependency.
During the study, over 2,200 tonnes of gully waste were processed, achieving a 70% recovery rate of clean, dry material. This not only cut disposal volumes and costs but also significantly lowered carbon emissions by reducing transport and landfill reliance. The technology’s versatility extends beyond gully waste, with proven applications for rail ballast, glass, and other inert materials, making it a powerful tool for waste contractors across sectors.
Our drying plant has earned industry-wide recognition, winning the Environmental Sustainability Award at the Staffordshire Highways Awards in 2024. This year, it was shortlisted in the Environmental and Sustainability category at the Highways Awards 2025. But beyond accolades, our clients are seeing real-world results: reduced costs, lower emissions, and measurable progress toward sustainability goals. Our approach proves that practical innovation can drive environmental change while delivering tangible economic benefits.
